Jack Fords with The Commonwealth

The rock n' roll songs that the Jack Fords write are fueled by a mixture of eras: the slick hot-rod 50s, back-to-the-land 60s, and the sweaty leather 70s. This Cleveland quartet might play bars, but they're no average bar band; their fiery performances can turn neighborhood watering holes into arenas. The Jack Fords have a three-CD discography: Bent Outta Shape (2005), Way Things Should Be (2010), and There It Is (2015). For a listing of their upcoming gigs throughout the Northeast Ohio area, check out www.jackfords.com.

Founded in 2009 by Patrick Burke (guitar, brass), Andrew Kuhar (vocals, keys, guitar), and Nicholas Kuhar (drums, percussion), The Commonwealth has since written, recorded, and produced four albums and supported acts such as KONGOS, GZA of The Wu-Tang Clan, Elle King, Talib Kweli, and Blitzen Trapper. Their latest release is The Victory Garden LP; engineered by Paul Hamann (famous for his work on The Black Keys' breakthrough Attack & Release), The Victory Garden amplifies The Commonwealth's place in the Midwest as a loud, chamber-pop band. It's a cinematic, haunting, and aggressive sound that pulls from The National and Radiohead as much as Led Zeppelin and Cream.
